By far the most interesting article and discussion I have seen regarding the use or not of "nofollow" tags. I am no SEO expert, nor advanced for that matter, but I do keep vigilant on important issues which may or not affect my future rankings on my blog.

I was going to post an article about what I have already learned about this subject but with this type of content, why bother. I will just make an excerpt and link directly to this site, and oh, that will be dofollow:)

Absolutely, fantastico, as they say in my language and although I am a beginner, I do recognize an excellent post when I see one.

If it is not too much to ask, I have a small blogspot blog and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I am worried .... I have this useful info on the list of directories put on my site. I have used nofollow. But there are simply too many on a page. I want to keep it that way for an easier update.
Am I losing out here?

Unfortunately that is what it was made for, it will not pass any link juice to your site.

http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=96569

How does Google handle nofollowed links?

We don't follow them. This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. Essentially, using nofollow causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web. However, the target pages may still appear in our index if other sites link to them without using nofollow, or if the URLs are submitted to Google in a Sitemap. Also, it's important to note that other search engines may handle nofollow in slightly different ways.

I will ask a simple question, which I think it is pertinent. If my site gets a link with nofollow from http://dsc.discovery.com/, do you think search engines will take it unto consideration?
I think everything depends on where the link is. If a link with nofollow appears on an authoritative page, I do not think search engines will ignore it because it has nofollow.

I use nofollow and robots.txt to block contact pages and various other forms pages. However, I still find them indexed in Google. Why is that?
